under embargo
for most of the results until November 14. But one finding that we can release today is the following extraordinary fact: If Maori New Zealand constituted its own country, Aotearoa would rank higher than the United States in Total Entrepreneurial Activity (TEA).This year, the GEM team have conducted an adult survey of 2800 adult New Zealanders between 18-64 years of age and have compared these results with the 37 other countries representing more than 3.5 billion people. We also have carried out in-depth entrepreneurship assessment interviews with thirty-nine Kiwi experts, entrepreneurs, educators, politicians, and business people. Specific questions that the GEM 2002 report addresses include: How entrepreneurial is New Zealand? What makes New Zealand entrepreneurial? What are the key issues facing the development of entrepreneurship in New Zealand? What are the implications for governmental policy development on entrepreneurship in New Zealand? |
